The Local to Global effort starts with Inspiring Service’s mission “to inspire and enable people and organizations to engage in volunteering that improves and strengthens their community and themselves” and takes it one step further. With Local to Global, we want to illuminate for young volunteers how their local efforts contribute on a global scale, specifically to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Jozie’s story is a perfect example. The recent Northern Kentucky University grad had been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for a few years when she and a fellow student, Louis, founded the NKU chapter. After the chapter’s creation, she became increasingly involved with H4H in the Northern Kentucky region, ranging anywhere from ‘Rock the Block’ to volunteering at specific sites. These experiences with Habitat along with conversations with her sponsor led Jozie to extend her local efforts to have a global impact in El Salvador.
