On the 18th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks is Wednesday. As is custom, moments of silence will be held across the nation to honor victims of the deadliest act of terror in world history. All told, 2,977 people were killed and more than 6,000 injured that day.
As is not custom, however, local residents have been invited to participate in Cincinnati’s first Sept. 11 national day of service event. Cincinnati Cares, a nonprofit launched in late 2017, will oversee hundreds of volunteers who will work with more than two dozen nonprofit groups on more than 30 projects on Sept. 11 and 14.
